Christ is Risen!
With the Grace of our Lord and with remarkable endurance of our Saints
and Fathers, the Orthodox Church has reserved her Holy Tradition and
wealthy spiritual legacy, which were handed down from the Apostles.
We call this Holy Faith and Sacred Tradition as the Eastern Orthodox
Church or the Orthodox Church.
Since the 11th century, the Christianity started from the Pentecost
has been bifurcated to the Eastern Orthodox Church and to the Western
Roman Catholic Church. The Eastern Orthodox church had suffered persecution
and martyrdom under the Islamic reign for about 400 years. In the 20th
century, the Russian Orthodox Church suffered persecution smilar to
that of the Catacomb church of the early christianity due to the Bolshevik
Revolution and the subsequent athiest reign.
The Holy, Apostolic, and Catholic Orthodox Church is rarely introduced
in Korea up to now. In this website, we present the history, theology,
and spirituality of the Orthodox Church. We also provide several important
literatures of Russian Orthodox Church, such as "The Philokalia
(introduction)", "The Law of God", stories of Saints,
and Orthodox wonder-working Icons as e-books, which are majorly presented
in Korean.
In this English website, we introduce briefly the history and present
mission status of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia (ROCOR
) in Korea. Since we have launched this website in 2002, we updated
Korean homepage frequently and lots of faithful Korean Christians showed
deep interests in Orthodox spirituality. However, we were not able to
update the English homepage. From now on, we are planning to update
regularly so that many people outside of Korea can learn about the ROCOR
mission activities in Korea.
Thank you very much.
+With love in Christ.
